Poetry Together takes over the Duchess of Cornwall’s Reading Room
Poetry Together and Dukes Education took over the Duchess of Cornwall’s Reading Room on Instagram earlier this spring. The poetry initiative, founded by Gyles Brandreth and supported by Dukes Education, brings young and old people together through the power of reciting poetry out loud.
The Duchess of Cornwall has been a long-time supporter of Poetry Together and asked some of the students from last year’s gala event in London, which HRH attended, to stage a special performance for the Poetry Together Instagram takeover. Pupils from St Vincent’s School – a specialist school in Liverpool for sensory impairment – brilliantly performed Colour of the Wind by Charlie Landsborough and Year 6 pupils from White Hill Junior School in Hertfordshire performed I Met An Old Man By The Sea by John Gohorry in the Turbine Hall of the Tate Modern.
