On a splendid Sunday in May, 50 golfers from 11 different Dukes Schools and Nurseries came together at glorious Goodwood in aid of the Dukes Foundation – and the wonderful charities it supports.
Being exceptionally lucky with the weather, conditions were par-fect for a day on the greens. There were on course competitions for everyone, including a historical character using his century old kit in a beat-the-pro challenge with a twist. Action on the fairways was wonderfully social with players from different schools and nursery settings becoming teammates and creating new friendships.
Golfers displayed a variety of emotions coming back to the clubhouse, and either celebrated or commiserated with a delicious two course lunch. Before prizegiving, there was a chance to browse a selection of unique auction items on display, the Maggie Thatcher and Jimmy Anderson memorabilia proving especially popular at auction.
Competition was well fought and congratulations go to all the tee-rific individual competition winners. The team competition was a photo finish, with two teams being split only by backscoring. Well done Eaton Square who eventually came out as the winning four.
Thank you to all golfers who played and supporters who joined us for the day. See you again next year!
