Piero - A celebration of Sansepolcro in words and music
Eaton Square Senior school played host to a delightful evening of music and culture when Hampstead Fine Arts founder, Candida Cave joined forces with the Orchestra ‘Giovani Armonie’ to celebrate the art of Piero della Francesca, one of Renaissance Italy’s most important artists.
Candy delighted the audience with her knowledgeable and enlightening lecture about the artist. After which the crowd were entertained by the orchestra in a celebration of Sansepolcro, the birthplace of the artist, in music.
Principal of Eaton Square, Sebastian Hepher had this to say about the evening’s musical performance, “I could not help but wonder when the last time strings were heard playing there to that level; I suspect Napoleon’s Ambassador may have been the last to hear such beautiful music. Or perhaps in Lady Coventry’s time, whilst waiting for Queen Charlotte to pass by in Green Park below.”
Head of Eaton Square Senior School and Sixth Form, Adrian Rainbow, shared his comments and a snippet of music from the event on Linkedin.
